This restaurant is accessible by walking a short distance from the main Kampung Hailam North Port Klang. The food is quite cheap, portion is big, and diners enjoy a view of the channel from the dining area. Do not expect anything fancy in terms of seating. Just eat. One of the dishes to try is the Mee Hailam, which is the traditional flour noodles cooked with lots of gravy - so called Hainanese style. Don't forget the sambal squids. Update: if you come here on a working day, ie weekday, they also sell mixed rice, which is the working man's common meal comprising rice and different servings of dishes. It's much cheaper than ordered meals.

The Hainan style steamed fish and grilled crabs tasted good and fresh, other dishes like the sambal vege “四大天王”, kam heong 虾膏肉 was flavorful, most of the dishes serve well with white rice. Lastly, the jar of calamansi sour plum juice we had were refreshing for the Malaysian weather. Kelvin: “10/10”

Good place, good food, good price. We got there early evening, it started getting more crowded in the late evening.

The highlight was definitely the crabs. Both the steamed and BBQ versions were very good, the meat was firm, full, and clearly fresh. The BBQ crab had a nice smoky aroma while still keeping the natural sweetness of the crab. The steamed crab was even better for us, as it really brought out the crab’s umami, with juices collected inside the shell (so good to sip!). The other dishes were decent but nothing particularly memorable. If you’re coming mainly for crabs and the seaside vibe, this place does deliver. That said, the experience was a test of patience. The restaurant was extremely crowded, and we queued for almost an hour just to get a table. After that, the food took quite a while to arrive, making it close to 1.5 hours total waiting time, on top of a 40-minute drive. Would we come back again? Honestly… probably not. The crabs were good, but the long wait made it a one-time experience for us. Follow us for more honest food reviews and DM us your must try place! Insta: @twospoonsonebite

HK Hailam Seafood Restaurant • FK Hailam, located in the Klang beach area, offers an exceptional dining experience with a magnificent ocean view. The menu features several standout dishes. The BBQ salted crab is particularly exceptional. We also highly recommend the steam Nyonya snapper, which is remarkably fresh and has a delicately spiced sauce. The petai with eggplant sambal is another excellent choice, with a flavor profile mild enough for children to appreciate. Finally, the oyster omelette was a simple yet perfectly executed dish. Due to its popularity, the spacious restaurant fills up quickly, so an early arrival is advised. Please note the entrance: ensure you are seated at the correct restaurant, which is specifically named HK Hailam Seafood Restaurant • FK Hailam.

Nice view. Food was great! Btw, instructed parking (acclaimed with CCTV) costs a few dollars. We just parked at the roadside.

Located at the Hainanese Chinese fishing village near Tanjung Harapan, the restaurant is rustic, charming and has a great vibe. The food here is excellent. Senangin fish with assam sauce, sambal sotong, ka heong prawn mantis, fried thai style tofu are all excellent, the grilled stingray is also very good, the marmite chicken is slightly below average. Price is reasonable (170 ringgits for 6 dishes, 6 rice, 1 pot of Chinese tea). Staffs and bosses also very friendly and nice. A true gem. Highly recommended!! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Nice seafood, friendly lady staff / owner It is an open air covered dine in area with a very interesting view of the river. Food were served fairly fast. We brought a Singaporean friend to try out the Malaysian way of a seafood dinner. She was impressed with the BBQ style (dry) crab which she said is not common in there. The or chien was abit of a letdown as it had beansprouts in the dish which I felt should have been left out & it lacked the oomph that you’d normally get from the dish. Reservation is advisable as tables get filled up as early as before 7pm. Overall we had a good meal
